Supreme Court Orders to Demolish Illegal Construction (Buildings) in Karachi – Latest Updates

Supreme Court has been taken action against the illegal constructions and issued strict orders in this regard.

After this decision, the commissioner of Karachi published an advertisement for a tender to demolish the buildings safely. The recommendations for four companies are under consideration.

Nasla Tower Shahrah-e-Faisal

The Commissioner of Karachi will give a tender to one of these companies to demolish the Nasla Tower.

After the Nasla Tower, the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of a multi-story building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. It gave the builders and authorities a month to comply with their order.

Tejori Heights Gulhan e Iqbal (13-D)

The Supreme Court has also ordered the demolition of the Tejori heights on the railway lands. Tejori Heights is located at Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13-D near KCR Gilani station.

The Supreme court ordered the builder of Tejori Heights to demolish it within a month and repay the allottees within three months. Although builders manipulated documents presented in court, the builder failed to get the court to determine the ownership of the land.

Makkah Terrace Saddar

The High Court has also issued orders to demolish the Makka Terrace, located on Saddar Preedy Street. As a result, the SBCA had to suspend the proceedings, and after that, negotiations were held.

Jinnah Avenue Karachi

Several major housing projects have started on Jinnah Avenue, a road with Malir Cantt in Karachi. Land for 16 residential projects is illegal. According to Deputy Commissioner Malir Ganahor Leghari, 40 acres of land was acquired to reproduce 16 projects.

Importantly, when these illegal constructions took place on Jinnah Avenue, Shamsuddin Soomro also handled the post of DG Sindh Building Control Authority for one year, during which time 3 projects have developed. In contrast, most of the projects are 70 to 90% of have been completed.

DC Malir wrote a letter to Member Land Utilization to take action against these projects on Jinnah Avenue.

The Anti-Corruption Department has released a list of fake housing schemes in Malir District for public awareness. Dozens of fake housing schemes have come up in this part of Karachi in the last few years, but no action has been taken so far.
